June
25th 2001 Rotary Year End Handover Evening The last meeting of the Rotary year 2000-1 was, as the Americans call it, the kick-out meeting. The outgoing President hands over to the incoming President. Yvette Asscher and Brian McQuade had organised a sparkling wine tasting
Dick
handed over the chain of office to incoming President Yvette Asscher
and rang the bell for the last time. |
|
Yvette had asked for
a gavel and Lawrence ‘the creep' Collins made an excellent example
in fine wood blotting his copy book by having a picture of the Past
President as ‘bulls-eye'
Dick thanked the Club
for giving him the opportunity to serve as President and said how much
he had enjoyed the year.
A surprise cake arrived
at the end of the evening—a Fender Stratocaster iced in authentic
candy pink..
We toasted “Rotary the World over” and looked forward to an even more interesting and fun-packed year, 2001-2
