Chicago Night 25th February 2002

There was only a modest amount of shooting at the Shepperton Mobsters & Molls Chicago Night organised by Vice President Sue to commemorate Paul Harris's founding of Rotary in Chicago in 1905.

'Baby-Face' Fear got 'Fingers' Hewes between the eyes with his Tommy gun and Anne's feather boa was quite dangerous.

All went well until the intellectual  part of the evening arrived.

Sue, wearing a genuine Marlene Dietrich outfit, kept the proceedings firmly under control and interrogated the suspects.

"Where was Al Capone born?"

"What did they call policemen who were above corruption?"

"What was the name of the crime fighter who led the investigations into corruption?"

John 'Bugsey' Brassington got all the answers correct.

Things then took a turn for the worse with the acting out of scenes from historic gangster films.

This was genuinely terrifying, the spirits of James Cagney and George Raft joined us, assisted by the spirits hiding in the coffee cups.
